Autism: Beyond the Diagnosis

This workshop teaches strategies and tools to help Autistic children and youth understand their diagnosis, using a strengths-based approach. Explaining and answering questions related to a diagnosis may be a lifelong discussion and can be difficult to navigate.

As a result of participating in this workshop, participants will be able to:

• list key components of discussing a diagnosis

• apply a positive strengths-based approach to discussions with persons with Autism regarding their diagnosis

• describe why a positive strengths-based approach is important
