Teens’ Feel Better Box: Building a Toolkit for Anxiety- Virtual

Teens’ Feel Better Box: Building a Toolkit for Anxiety- Virtual Workshop for Caregivers

Is your teen feeling worried, stressed, or overwhelmed, and are you looking for ways to support them? You are not alone.

Autistic teens may experience anxiety in different ways, and it can sometimes be difficult to recognize or talk about what they are feeling. School, friendships, changes in routine, and other everyday experiences can contribute to stress and worry. Having the right tools and strategies can help teens better understand their feelings and find ways to cope.

In this interactive virtual workshop, caregivers will learn practical strategies to support their autistic teen’s emotional well-being. We’ll explore ways to help teens recognize and talk about their feelings, as well as ideas for creating a personalized “Feel Better Box” they can use when they are feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed.

Participants will learn:

-How anxiety may show up for autistic teens and some of the situations that can contribute to stress.

-Strategies to help teens recognize, communicate, and make sense of their feelings.

-Practical ways caregivers can support their teen’s coping and self-regulation skills.

-What to include in a personalized “Feel Better Box” to help teens manage moments of stress or overwhelm.

Who is this for?

This workshop is designed for parents and caregivers of autistic teens aged 13–17, as well as educators and other professionals working with this population.
