Autism Ontario: Journey to Adulthood Discussion Workshop
The Journey to Adulthood Discussion Workshop (for parents and caregivers of autistic youth ages 12-17).
A series of six virtual discussions, one per week, featuring topics relevant to the transition from youth to adulthood. Each session includes discussion and resources around specific topics on the journey to adulthood. Thursday May 7 – Thursday June 11, 2026 from 7:00 – 8:30PM. IMPORTANT: This session is limited to parents and caregivers of autistic youth ages 12-17.
The Journey to Adulthood Discussion Workshop is open to parents and caregivers province-wide (must live in Ontario). The workshop will be presented via a virtual platform (Zoom). Participants will need access to the internet and a laptop/tablet/cell phone with video and speaker capacity. Please note this workshop is for parents/ caregivers, and not for youth, support workers, or other professionals.
Topics will include:
- Funding (as of age 18) including key application dates,
- Decision making – Consent, capacity, and legal concerns,
- Community including Post-secondary options, Employment, volunteering, community programs, and more
- Advocacy, and Mental Health.
