Understanding Special Education: Workshop for Caregivers of Autistic Learners

Are you new to special education in Ontario? Not sure about where to start? This 90-minute live session will share information and tools to help you support your child’s learning needs.  You will learn about how schools support autistic students, the different options available, and how to work with the school team to help your child succeed.

In this session, you will learn:

• Important words and terms (like IEP and IPRC)

• How special education works in Ontario schools

• The roles of families, schools, and school boards

• Where to find helpful resources and support

This information session is for parents, caregivers, and family members of autistic students. Participants will receive a resource package with useful links and information.
