OAP – Building Conversation Skills

In this session, families will gain an understanding of the components of conversations including questions and comments. It will also focus on effective strategies for teaching conversation skills and how to encourage engagement in conversations with peers. This workshop is appropriate for caregivers of children with intermediate communication skills (3-4 word sentences, requesting and labelling). Note: After attending, families are eligible for a 1-hour follow up session to focus on individualized goals and to create a plan to apply their learning at home with their child. This is a foundational family service through the OAP and families must meet eligibility criteria to attend.
