Transitional Aged Youth Roundtables (Kerry’s Place)
Kerry’s Place is excited to offer Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) Roundtables for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ages 14-18, who are experiencing a transition. The group encourages participants to engage in roundtable discussions on transitional-related skills. Teens will get the opportunity to interact with each other, enjoy activities and discuss ways to cope with various transitions.
The Roundtable Topic of self-advocacy will include teaching participants the importance of self-advocacy, recognizing when to apply the skill independently and ways to foster skill development.
The purpose of reviewing this topic is to assist participants’ ability to use this skill in a meaningful way throughout life transitions. The session will conclude with recommendations to encourage the application of strategies and skills taught during the session.
